Convergence Quilt

Kathi, That's a very cool idea. You also could make a center section like you made for the lap quilt and use smaller sections to make blocks (in accenting colors) for surrounding it. The applique idea is great. Just play with it until you have something you like. That's what the "modern" quilters do.

Convergence quilt

Have any of you ever made a Ricky Timms convergence quilt in a bed size? I'd like to try one (I've made one in a lap quilt size several years ago), but I'm not too sure if the technique lends itself to larger sized quilts. My thought is to use it as the background for a large applique. His book suggests 16" or so blocks to use for the convergence, and the one I made was four of those put together.

Any suggestions?
