Thanks to Kathi in Idaho I have just joined the new WWQP Facebook page. It is a closed group, so you have to go there to join up. You can see and read the page without joining but must be a member to post. Facebook is not everybody's favourite social media but it is fast and accessible and easy to use and a closed group is pretty safe. I manage a page for my feral cat rescue and am a member on a number of others and have never had a problem.

So this is your invitation to pop over to

https://www.facebook.com/groups/260593620944287/

and join the group there. It would be lovely to see some more of the old crew over there! And I can safely promise for those who have long memories -- no flame wars. It is a closed group with moderators. And did I mention it is easy to use? :)

Back in the day I lived here at WWQP, traded many fabrics etc. and posted about projects. I seldom do any sewing or quilting now and that's way I'm posting. I have a very nice adjustable non-basting quilting frame that was given to me. I used it a few times, but it now needs a new home where it will be loved and used. If you live near Columbia, Florence, Cheraw, or Camden, SC and are interested in having this frame please contact me. I have contacted the one guild in my area but no one was interested. Seems almost all hand quilting is done by machine now. That's sad. There has to be someone that still hand finishes their quilts. Below is more information about it. Please, help me by sending this on to guilds in your area if you are in SC.

Will hold a top up to 65” wide comfortably (maybe wider). Locally handcrafted from bamboo. Adjustable height up to 4 foot. The frame tilts up and down and measures 73” X 37”. The frame can be taken apart for storage. Free for local pick up. I live about 30 miles north of Florence, SC.
I have had the frame for around five years now. To date I have used it to finish three quilts. However, it is just too large for my small house. I’m trying to find someone that would like to have it. It is made from bamboo wood, has been well taken care of. Email me at lightningsj at att dot net
They have moved from almost on the Canadian border to the state of South Carolina, in the USA. As they both want the "minkie" or fuzzy warm backing on the twin quilts I think that a heavy batting would be too much. Although the Minkie is polly, the rest is cotton. Has anyone out there used this?
Or do you think it's a bad idea?
Thanks,
The magazine had a quilt-along feature using 4-patch blocks. I happened upon tiny 4-patches of diawabo scraps in my clean up. I loved the fabrics so much I saved even the tiniest bits. This 21"x 23" quilt is my result. As usual for me, the quilting will wait for I'm a piecer at heart!
I am really frustrated about not being able to post here any
more. I have written to Eric twice, he replied to my second mail but
there have was a solution. This BB seems to be soooo quiet - I would
love to revive it, but how? Make a new board somewhere else that
actually works for everyone? Let me know what you think!
What a pity that this fabulous Bulletin Board sort of "died", don't
you think so? What would you say to moving this to a different kind of
discussion board, like a phpbb board system? Just an idea... we have
been quilting together for years (since 1999) and I always think it is
hard to give something like this up just because of technical problems. I
haven't seen postings for ages!
I have been working (very slowly) on a wonky log cabin quilt. I'm having a really hard time getting my 2 and 1/2 strips, and other strips to sew with 1/4 seams. The seams are crooked, and the feed dogs don't seem to be grabbing the fabric. Is there a way to raise and lower the feed dogs on a Janomme 1600? (will have to check on line for the instructions) Should I cut 12 1/2 in squares of muslin for a foundation backing?
Thanks for your input.
In the same file I found my Snowballs in a Cold Snap. My title for a combination of a snowball pattern bordered with blocks from BH&G Patchwork and Quilting magazine pattern called Cold Snap. It has been a long time in the works. I just completely resewed one of the borders to correct an error discovered by a quilt group member - yay for seeing it before it was quilted. This quilt will also go to a long arm quilter when I get around to it.
I no longer quilt enough to call myself a quilter anymore. It use to be all I did in my free time. During that time I made two complete Jane Stickle quilts. The first was sold on ebay. Some may remember the big to do over that one back in 2005. I then made one for my husband. Does anyone remember RaeAnn from this website? I made and attached the border to her quilt, plus I made the top for the quilt on point. It was sold on eBay, machine quilted then sent back to me to do the bias binding along the edge.

I am offering my used but in good condition book for sale(my copy of the software will be included). By now though the big attraction to this quilt is probably not nearly as huge as it was back then. Asking $10 in the US. Mailing included. Hoping this link will take you to may eBay auction containing quilting rulers, hand piecing templates, EQ5 books (buyer will receive my copy of the quilting software) etc. I do very little quilting now and would love for these to go to someone that will use them. Asking $25 in the US. If purchased new these items would total well over $200. This is a great deal especially for a beginning quilter.

Copy and paste will take you to the page. I never could get the link to work.---------------------------------------
Dora, Fla. area for a quilt retreat! Whoo-hoo! We went last year (drove there in a tropical storm) and had a wonderful time. I'm hoping for the same wonderful experience this year.
I'm taking 3 UFO's to do binding on, and the Christmas small wall hanging that I wanted to do last Dec. but couldn't see well enough to thread the needle. It's made with green yo-yo's so I'll be taking lots of greens with me.
Already had 2 days of 90 degree heat, and just had a big thunder storm. Thankfully DH hasn't left his office yet, so he won't be having to drive in the blinding rain.
When Monday comes I'll tell you all about what I finished.
I'm sorry for the trouble. I am at a lose for what to do. I don't have this kind of trouble loading links on the other sites I use. If you send me an email to lightningsj AT junoDOTcom (change the two words and take out the spaces) I should be able to get a working link to you that way.
For several years I was an avid quilter and daily follower of this board. I haven't been around too much lately, but I do still read it from time to time. I made many completed quilts plus numerous tops that were sold on ebay and to a couple of internet friends. The desire to quilt isn't the same now and I need to free up space for other things. I'd like to pass these items along to someone that can use them.
FSOT%20%20Quilting%20Items You will need to copy and paste this link. It will take you to my Photobucket album of quilting notions (12 photos). I apologize but I couldn't figure out how to do it otherwise.

These are items which I purchased over the last several years. Most of them have never been used or maybe once. The retail prices listed are the ones I could find a year ago. The EQ5 quilting software books were lightly used and are in new condition. Whomever buys this lot of items will receive my copy of the software. If these items were purchased today their total price would be well over $100. I’m asking $75 via PayPal. There are no pets or smoking in our home. US please.
I enjoy browsing it bi-monthly, but like others, have more than enough magazines and books on hand to keep me busy for several lifetimes. I should subscribe to for the next year. My Fonz & Porter is about to expire. I got Quilting Arts for a year, but that is more "artsy" than I am, and just wound up feeling bad about myself. Not really traditional either, sort of in between somewhere.
Any suggestions?

Get a Starbucks cardboard cup wrap and use it for a pattern. I used up a lot of batik scraps and they came out beautifully. Use Velcro for the closure (sew it on - not the stick-on kind). These can also be used for cold cups, as my daughter discovered and had to call and tell me. They fold up and take up no room in your purse. I used warm & natural scraps for the batting. Time will tell if I get anything made or purchased or will just gift by check. One idea was the water bottle carriers featured on Pink Chalk Fabrics free tutorials. She is having a long struggle to recover from this devastating injury.

The people who run the International Quilt Festival in Houston have organized a special exhibit in her honor at this year's show. The Houston Chronicle newspaper has written a lovely article describing Libby's medical "adventure" and also posted some photos of the quilts in the exhibit.
Here is a link to the article in the Houston Chronicle and I hope it works for you.
