Who doesn't like free??

I just came across an on-line quilt shop, located in Missouri, that offers free shipping in the U.S. www.cozycupboardfabrics.com
I placed a small order with them just to try them out and not only did I get free shipping (quick too) and no tax, but they sent 2 free coordinating fat quarters (they coordinate with each other, not with my order)! I have no affiliation with them whatsoever but I thought maybe those of you who order online might want to patronize them. And I'm also glad to see some new posts. I've been lax in posting but I do check the site regularly. And you always answer my pleas for help! NancyH

The stickies

I would think that if good old fashioned stick margarine will remove pine tar, it might be used for those sticky labels, too. Just smear it on, rub it in and then wash off with soap and water.

Remove price sticker residue

I have always had luck with cooking oil on a paper towel to remove the sticky residue left from price tags. I think I will also try another Laura's method of heating the tag with a hair dryer. Sounds like a good idea to me. Speaking of acetone (fingernail polish remover), I once removed lines from one of my acrylic rulers trying to get the residue to come off. Beware.

Gummy removal

I've bought some small plastic containers and can't get the gum off from the labels attached to the plastic. I don't have nail polish remover and I'm chemically sensitive so won't use that sort of thing. Does anyone have any other suggestions on how to remove the gummy residue left on plastic containers?
Thanks
