Finished !

This quilt has been such fun to make. Over a period of time I have worked on little peices of embroidery, made blocks of pretty fabric and played around with assembling it. I have (ofcourse) got some blocks over so now have to make a second quilt !!! Maybe I'll give them to my two grand-daughters for their 18th Bdays ! No hurry , one is twelve and the other only eleven ! Happy days. Marion.

How lovely. It would make a super gift for high school graduation or going-away-to-college. Yes, do plan another!

That is beautiful, a nice memory quilt, it looks like it to me.
That setting would be lovely for hankerchief of relatives. I have several of my grandmothers that I'd like to do something. LONNA IN WI

What a pretty quilt .... it looks so sweet and feminine. It would seem to me that if you have two granddaughters you are indeed obliged to make another quilt very similar in style so the girls can feel equally pampered by their grandmother. Or else send the finished one to me here in the USA so the two girls in NZ won't fight over the one quilt you have completed. :-)

How soft and lovely, beautiful work. Adopt me, please. That way the others can get in line hahaha. Lavinia

Thank you ladies for your comments !! I no longer belong to a quilting group so your encouragement is appreciated. It really was fun to make. There's a wonderful freedom when you don't have to worry about matching points etc. With this one, if a block doesn't fit the space where you want to place it, you just add a border until it does !!

WOW! WHAT A WINNER YOU HAVE IN THAT QUILT! After taking a good look at my bits and pieces, I am inspired to try my hand at something similar. A favorite place in my home is a collection on my living room wall of antique framed sayings and poems, an oval silouette of myself at age 11, a puffy decopaged (sp?) heart, etc. Your quilt reminded me of that display. Your granddaughters are fortunate to have such a talented, caring grandmother.

I've seen any number of memory quilts and "collage" type quilt settings, but *yours* is absolutely, without a doubt, the most attractive one I've ever seen. It is just lovely. It looks like a postcard sampler or travel memento ...but much prettier!

I also have handwork projects that I do when I'm not at home, but to date, I've done standard quilt blocks. I can now see that this option is available ... and I never would have thought of it. Your quilt is quite inspirational!

Ignore Judy in Ohio, Whitestone & Lavinia in TN's suggestions that they are worthy of your creation. I *promise* that I'm the better choice. :-) :-)
