Borders or No Borders???????

I know it is personal preference but I just wanted to know what you gals did with your Disappearing 9 Patch borders. Did you put border strips on them or just bind the quilt around the blocks? I have 90 blocks ready to sew together for a queen size quilt and I am undecided about whether I want to border or not to border it.
What did the rest of you do that made them? What's your opinion?
TIA

My only comment is that when I make a bed sized quilt and add borders, I do not add a border across the top or "head" of the quilt. I add borders to the sides and foot only.

I think that the decision to add borders all depends on the desired finished size. Since I am not a very precise planner and since I don't pre-wash anything I tend to make my quilts overly large so when they shrink during the first laundering they will be the right size after they come out of the dryer. Now you know when I decide to add a border .... is the quilt top large enough as it is or is it gonna shrink too much?

This is how I make quilting exciting! LOL

I put two borders on mine. A narrow one and a wider one using 2 of the 3 fabrics in the quilt. But it isn't sandwiched yet!

I made 4 identical disappearing 9 patches and sewed them together and around each set of 4 I added a lattice strip. I also added a small border the same color as the lattice strip and then a wider border. I hope everyone had as much fun as I did making this block. Such a simple block but the disappearing act is what makes it so interesting.

I put one 4-inch (?) border around my blocks. I just finished up some projects that were hanging around and need something new and fun and that I could finish for a Christmas gift--maybe another disappearing 9-patch would be just the ticket! Phyllis, you are so right, a REALLY fun block to make!!!

Hi, I made a disappearing nine patch using only three colors and it turned out great. I put a border on it.I plan on making another one real soon. They are great. Guess you could say borders are a personnel preference. Marge
