Wallhanging storage

Hi
I'm looking for some ideas on storing seasonal wallhangings.
Thanks.

Be sure to refrain from plastic. I suggest a cotton pillow case. If you don't have any spares you can get some fairly cheap at Wal-Mart is some such place. I would wash out the sizing and any other non cotton content. Roll the wall hanging around a paper towel tube or fold with acid free tissue rolled up in the folds. That way you won't have wear accumulating in the folds over the years. Protect them from moisture to prevent mildew. Frankly, I don't always follow my own advice and I've never had a problem with a poly/cotton blend of pillow case. You can always just make a muslin bag with a draw string for each of your seasonal wall hangings so the size will be custom made.

If your wall hangings are small enough you could also use a pants hanger. I have several small ones that I do that with. Works pretty good.

A good source for soft, well washed pillowcases is your local thrift store. I've bought hand-embroidered ones at mine for 50 cents on sale. A good way to respect someones hand-work!
