WWQP Bulletin Board

Extreme frustration!

Well girls I don't know what to do. I've emailed Eric twice at the BBChat blog address to ask for an invite so I can post on the Chat blog. No reply. I ask Jill D. to email him and see what happens. She did; no reply. I hangdog into this blog via the old chat page (which btw is still there but wall-to-wall spam); still can't get into the chate blog. It shows up in black and white, I can read but I can't post. I have a lot of pleasant news to share but it rightfully belongs on the chat page, not here on the technical page.
I guess I'll just have to live without the chat; it's soooo maddening to want to reply and not be able to. I wonder if I sent Eric some chocolates if he'd finally send me the invite to the chat blog??
Frustration reigns supreme. If I understood why, it would help.

Anna, the Chat Page is in paler colors, not in the rosey pink like our BB page, so you could say that it is in black and white by comparison.

I will go to the Chat Page and make a posting that says "News From Anna in Spain" and then you can click on "Comments" and make a long string of paragraphs in the comments. I believe that anyone can make comments as long as you enter the security code under the comments box.

What I can not understand is, why I'm not sent an invite. Eric did send me two separate ones for this technical blog. Does he just assume they were different and that I don't really need another invite? Or have I been banned, or what.

Anna, I am certain you have not been "banned". Perhaps Eric, who runs a business, has just been busy and is not paying attention to this site.

I have created the posting on the Chat Page where you can write a whole bunch of comments. I know it is not the same as making your own posting but at least it will let you tell everyone your news for now. Eventually someone will get through to Eric .... I hope. :-)

You still need to post a user name and password to post comments. I often have trouble doing that and have to go through the exercise several times before comments post. Frankly, I've had my regular sign in email or password rejected and have to repeat that process several times. This too, I'm sure, will pass.

Anna, I've just checked and while you are listed on the BB you are not on the membership list for the chat blog.

Let's all send an email to Eric and he'll have to take note. Keep it friendly though. I still mean what I said the other day. Eric owes us zilch and does a great deal for us.

Jane, I must disagree. Under the comment box I am writing in right now I have three choices for choosing an identity. I could be myself (Judy in Ohio) or I could be "other" or I could be "anonymous". At least that is what I see using Firefox browser on a Mac computer. I have three "buttons" and could choose to be "other" if I wanted to do that.

That's why Anna can post without being a registered member. She can post as "other". She would have to enter a security code to prove she's a human and not a spam robot.

But even if she posts as other, she still has to have a user id and acceptable password. I have had the same experience as others--sometimes it goes, sometimes not. It took me a while to remember the user id is email address, not just user name. I also think if you can post to one board you can post to the other via the tools at the top. I don't remember needing to be invited to both lists, but I hardly post to chat.

A lot of the time when I click on the bulletin board link from my favorites, it won't load. Lately, I've just gone to quilt.com, then clicked on bulletin board and it comes right up. Maybe I need to reload it to favorites.
