Question for traditional quilters
Feb. 2: I need a gift for a friend who is a very traditional quilter. I am on the other end of the spectrum, and was hoping some of the traditionalists could steer me to a new book that has been fun or helpful for you.

How about some basics, like rotary cutter blades of the big spools of cotton thread in taupe or tan? Or five yards of fabric for a quilt back?

Judy Martin has two books that might be appreciated by your traditional quilter friend: "Scraps" and "The Block Book". Fons and Porter and Jackie Robinson also have some nice books with traditional patterns and very good instructions. Jackie Robinson's "Favorites" is one of my favorites. NancyH

I consider myself a traditional quilter and I love to read the books about the history of quilts. I think the state of Tennessee has a state history on quilts. Merikay Waldvogel from Knoxville may be one of the authors. She has written others, Soft Covers for Hard Times includes a bit about the WPA housing in Crossville area. Just my opinion.
