Proof that there IS a FABRIC Gene!
This is a picture of my granddaughter hugging a bolt of fabric. She insisted that it be put down on the floor so that she could see it . She LOVES fabric, and this was taken when she was 18 months old. She 26 months now. I told her that's the way Grammy feels too, that if I could I would roll around on the floor with it too! I know this isn't strictly quilt related, but if you consider that she is a quilter in the making......

Vicki, that is the most precious photo!! What a photogenic little girl and what a natural actress you have there. You could get that child a modeling job, bank the modeling fees and have her college education paid for before she is five years old!
She's a beauty and obviously a keeper with that eye for fabric .... :-)

What an adorable little girl she is. What is her name Vicki? A future quilter for sure I am thinking! Thanks for sharing her with us!

Thank you Judy and Celia.....you must know that Megan is my one and only grandchild, I mean, I don't dote on her, do I? I can't wait till she's a little older and we can sew together. She already uses the little cardboard sewing cards and shoelacey things.

What a sweet picture. Reminds me of my grandson - he used to stay with me while his Mama worked. I had a great picture of him napping on top of my scraps. Wish I knew where that picture is. I've GOT to organize my files!

I think that picture should be enlarged and framed for the wall in your quilt studio. Apropos to say the least.
I once took my granddaughter, Laura into Patricia's Quilt Shoppe in East Rochester when she was about four years old. I'd told her to select any fabric she wanted and I'd make her a pair of shorts. She walked up to the whole shelf full of thirties repros, spread her arms to try to encompass the entire shelf and said "I want THESE!" Several women nearby at the cutting table turned with grandmotherly smiles and I, beaming with pride and joy, said "I'm corrupting my granddaughter." She is now eleven but I don't see enough of her to be able to do a thorough job of corruption. Actually her older brother, fourteen, has shown more interest in quilting.
