Babylock Sashiko machine

Has anyone gotten a sashiko machine by Babylock?  I'm mulling investing in one but the cost is keeping me out of the store.  Has anyone tried one and if so, what do you think of it?

TIA, Mary in Oregon

I was seriously considering this, too, but after I read a great deal about it I decided to say no. Basically, the machine has to thread and unthread the needle to make every stitch and so you must (1) sew slowly and (2) it is not really meant for quilting applications but is more for garment applications. It uses self-threading needles which are fragile and it is not at all like your normal sewing machine.

Judy, thank you VERY much for getting back to me. I'd done some research but couldn't get a feel for whether the machine would suit my purpose (machine quilting). Your note is exactly what I needed. Thanks!

Jill, it does sound cool! I'd hoped to use it for machine quilting but it's a lot of money for basically a one stitch machine. Judy helped me decide against it. :-)

    Hugz to you both
