quilt of valor

Girls, I know it's not nice to brag, but just had to share this E mail I got yesterday.
"Your quilt of Valor has been packed and tomorrow morning will be sent to one of the Medevac pilots in Eastern Afghanistan on the Pakistan border.  He will give your quilt to one of the wounded being transported by his unit off the front lines.   Your quilt will be there to comfort and warm a young American soldier in his time of crisis."  This was sent to me and others who took part in the Jan. quilt of valor retreat.
This was such a simple pattern, red and blue stripes on a white background.  It was on the cover of the "Quilts and More" last fall.  I named it The Road Home.

Thanks, Sara, from the mother of a soldier who fortunately made it home safely from tours in both Afghanistan and Iraq. Those quilts make a big difference...a hug from home when it's most needed.

    Thanks again, Kathi

I left a comment this morning, but apparently the powers that be didn't see fit to post it yet.

As the mother of a soldier who served tours in both Afghanistan and Iraq (fortunately he returned home safely from both fronts), I wanted to thank Sara for sending those fabric hugs to our wounded warriors. Things from home have special meaning for those service members.

    Thanks again,Sara. Kathi

That's wonderful! To have something you enjoy doing so much be so appreciated and needed by someone serving our country.
Thanks for sharing & motivating us Sara!
