You can try swabbing it with vinegar. That can help if the mark is not too deep.

I've always heard that hydrogen peroxide is the remedy for scorch, but I don't know the how tos.

I've used white vinegar also, with success if it's not too dark. You could try lemon juice and letting it dry in the sun also. Let us know what worked for you! NancyH

Copied and pasted after a search on Google: Use peroxide on cotton and linen fabrics that have been scorched. Put some peroxide on a second piece of old fabric. Place the fabric over the scorched part of the clothing. Rub lightly with the heated iron. The peroxide will pull the scorch stain out, repeat the process as many times as needed to remove the scorch mark. If you have just scorched cotton fabric put it in cold water right away. Fresh scorch marks can come out by soaking the clothing in the cold water for 24 hours. Vinegar comes to the rescue too when treating newly created scorch marks. Rub the scorched area with white vinegar, then with cold water. Repeat until the scorch mark has vanished.

You can also cover the scorch mark on the clothing with lemon juice. Then lay it directly in the sun. The combination of the lemon juice and sunshine should bleach the mark out. This works best with white or light colored clothing. Dark fabrics might lose color along with the scorch marks.

You can always applique a butterfly or some such thing over the scorch stain. You know, cover up your mess as if you were a cat.

Sorry about that. Sometimes I just can't help myself.

Rosy - I think I answered this but now the replies aren't showing up. I've used white vinegar with success. You might try lemon juice and letting it sit in the sun for awhile. Or I've had really good luck with OxyClean on many different kinds of spots. I've dabbed in on with a Qtip on really small places. Good luck - and let us know what worked for you. NancyH

We used to use plain white toothpaste and a toothbrush in the Army when we scorched our uniforms in basic training
