Mary, that looks like a mighty clean machine, as though the original owner was a woman who hated to sew! :-)

Judy, I too think it was lightly used. :-) Other than the smell, it's a great little machine. The smell is finally getting better. We replaced the belt as I thought that was retaining the mustiness. I'm getting closer to actually sewing with it. Maybe this next weekend.
The woman I bought it from had it in a barn/shed that was full of other things to be sold. I'm sure the damp and chill did not help the poor little guy. He's been warm since being in my house though. I'm hoping once I start using it things will continue to 'dry out'.

Mary, have you tried Baking soda for the oder? try sitting a little bowl on the case for a few days.
