I belong to a guild. We have scheduled programs at each meeting, usually a guest speaker or a trunk show. We pay membership fees and have plan quilt shows. Workshops are scheduled with instructors. We have classes for different techniques in the guild classroom. The quild library is full of the newest quilt books that can be checked out. Each guild is different and I think are worth joining to learn new things.
I belong to a structured group as described by Cindy. When I called it a guild one day, I was corrected by a member who said it was not a guild, it was a group. Go figure. Lavinia-TN
