There is a textile museum, the Max Berk Museum, in H-Ziegelhausen, no shop there, but if you are interested in textiles in general, they sometimes have quilting exhibitions.
Textilsammlung Max Berk • Kurpfälzisches Museum Brahmsstraße 8 69118 Heidelberg-Ziegelhausen Telefon: 06221 800317 Fax: 06221 809657 E-Mail: kmh-textilsammlung-max-berk@heidelberg.de
There is shop with African fabric in H.: Twiga Design Struvestr. 2 69124 Heidelberg Tel.: 06221-786562 Fax: 06221-786563 Simone.Knapp@gmx.de
and another shop very close to H.: Textilwarengroß- u. Einzelhandel Christiane Mück Scheffelstrasse 15 69168 Wiesloch b. Heidelberg phone 06222 - 2420
I'd call or email before I visited as a lot of shops are home-based.
Hope this helps, and hope it was the Heidelberg you were looking for. What a pity that I am about 2 hours south - I have a quilt shop you could visit!
