Thank you, Kathi! I see that a "dense" fabric is what is called for, a fabric with lots of "activity" going on. I think my angular stars print might fill the bill. You can see it at www.equilter.com if you are interested. It is called "Black is Black Star Bursts".

The pattern actually doesn't show as much activity in the fabric. I liked this one, though. Check the website HDDesigns.com to see what they have on the pattern cover.
The black and black could be really interesting. I can see it with a bit of red or yellow in the sashings.
