Bamboo & Cotton Blend Batting

Have any BBers tried the new blend of bamboo & cotton batting that is available at JoAnn stores? And if you have tried it, what is your opinion? I have oodles of Warm & Natural batting on hand and am not tempted to change but I am always curious about something new on the market. I suppose the idea of using bamboo in batting will appeal to those interested in the renewable "green" market for bamboo certainly grows rampantly since it is a form of grass.

I have not seen the batting but DD loves the bamboo yarn and I recently bought DH three pair of bamboo socks. Very soft. I wonder how the bamboo batt needles when hand quilting? I, too, have enough cotton batts in the closet to keep me busy for awhile. Still...I'd like to try the silk..and the wool...and egads, now I have to think about bamboo. LOL

i read an article about the batting (think i have it on the computer if anyone is interested) and went to joann's to check it out. it happened to be on sale for 50% off so i bought some to try. it's "recommended" for machine quilting, but it's said that is because there is a thin skrim on it. some who've used it for hand quilting have said they like it. i think the quilting is recommended to be 8" apart.

it is extremely soft when you run your hand over it. mine is still in the package tho, i just pulled down the plastic to be able to feel it. it is a 50/50 mix with cotton and shrinkage is about 3% but i'm doing this from memory so may be off a bit.

i'm anxious to try it but don't have a project right now. i think on sale the generous queen was about $15 and the only other size it comes in is generous crib -- regular price $15. i hope others who have tried it post.

Bamboo-I recently bought a bamboo/cotton blend towel. Yes, it is very soft, however it takes forever to dry in the dryer, and doesn't dry well in the bathroom. I would not buy another one.
Haven't tried the batting, but don't bother with a towel unless you have lots of time to hang it in the sun.
I've tried the wool, and like you have lots of cotton that I like.
My next door neighbor's daugher is married to a Chinese-American man. They discourage us from buying anything from China unless it is Tiawan. (but that is a total can of worms, so please don't get upset)

Bamboo is the new hot thing right now from cloth to flooring. Now how to get our cars to run on bamboo juice!
