If you're gonna be a bear, be a Grizz!

This is a quilt that I just finished making to donate to our high school to be raffled off as a fund raiser for the athletic programs. As you can probably tell, the school colors are black and orange and the mascot is the Grizzly. After many weeks of work, it is headed out to the quilter this afternoon. The quilt is queen size with a fairly deep drop.
The lighting isn't the best, but it was so windy in the front of the house (out of the direct southern sun) that I opted for the least of the two problems.

  2. Kathi, that is absolutely spectacular!! It should sell raffle tickets right and left and bring in lots of money for the school's program. Be sure and buy some tickets yourself so you have a chance of winning it back .... or have your hubby buy tickets, whatever it takes.
Is there time for me to buy some tickets???

  5. Kathi, what a fantastic quilt! The school is certainly blessed to have you help with fund raising this way. Lucky person who gets to take it home!

  7. Yes, Judy, there will still be plenty of time for tickets. I don't expect the quilt back from the quilter until June. I'm then planning to enter it in the Sisters quilt show. After that it will be donated to the school, with the raffle probably taking place during football season during the fall. I'll keep everyone posted.

  8. I hit the publish button before I said that all of your kind comments are really appreciated. Only a group of quilters know what actually goes into making a quilt.

  9. That quilt is fabulous and will make a great prize. I can visualize it on a bed of a student who is at school there and later at collage. Great job representing the school. LONNA IN WI

  10. Kathi, If your quilt is at the Sisters Quilt Show would you mind posting again early in July? I plan on going to the show but if it's hot, having the goal of finding your quilt could be helpful. :-)

Have fun with the string quilt too! I hope to order the pattern for myself soon. My friend Dorothy has been pleased to hear how many are getting the pattern now.

    Take care,
