HI, I'm back home and need help finding a thingy for a back support for quilters. Some people in my guild got one at Jo-Anne's but they no longer sell them. It has straps over the shoulders, and a weight in the small of the back to help with lower back support.
Surely someone out there knows where to get one.
Thanks,
Sara in Fla.
Try ebay. Go to the search bar and type in sewing back support. You can also try back support cushion but that brings up a whole different animal.

ReplyDeleteI think this may be what you are looking for. I found it in a search for "posture correction sewing".

I may have seen them in Nancy's Notions catalogs. She has an online site too, I believe.
ReplyDeleteDon't know if this applies or not, but I had some sciatica pain in my leg. My nephew phys.therapist told me to lower my sewing chair so that I would be forced to sit up straighter. This separates the vertebrae and lets blood flow in. And it worked!
ReplyDeleteYou might not need a back support. The Gypsy people who came out with those great ruler handles have just brought out a thing you sit on that feels and works just like a stability ball. It builds up your core muscles and makes you sit up straight......
