Mom and I played with drunkard's path blocks and came up with this pattern. It's too easy to get to be "new," but I've never seen it before. Does anyone know of a name for this pattern? Laura in Alabama
Barbara Brackman's Encyclopedia of Blocks has an arrangement similar to yours called Love Ring, Jig Saw Puzzle, Nonesuch, and Ozark Puzzle. (all names for the same arrangement) However, yours differs from hers because all of your convex curves are darks and your concave curves are lights. She has darks and lights in both of her shapes so IMHO you have created a new pattern! (at least up to her 1993 publication of patterns after extensive research)
Rhoda Ochser Goldberg's book of patterns and names has this one as Love Ring.
